With Cardiff 2 games away from winning the FA Cup and english FA saying that they won't represent them in europe if they do, its only a matter of time before the FAW try to steal a UEFA place from the LOW or the Welsh Cup.

Realistically its BAngor or Rhyls place since don't suppose Newport YMCA will be able to apply for a UEFA licence in time and Llanelli will either come 1st or second in the League.

Legally I don't think the FAW can do anything but it won't stop them trying.
Personally think Cardiff (and possibly Swansea) will break with the FAW and try to become full members of the FA

If Cardiff want to represent Wales in Europe, they can win a Welsh Competition. Otherwise, they can go to hell.

They can't possibly give Cardiff one of our rightfully earned places, it would be illegal and wouldn't stand up in court.

What I think this will do is bring us 1 step closer to the 6 exiles being brought back into the Welsh Cup with UEFA qualification allowed. Whatever you may think of them playing in England surely everyone must see the nonsense that we have the only clubs in Europe that are barred from European qualification. And its just not true that UEFA do not allow teams to play outside their country and play in Europe. Derry City represent Ireland, Luxembourg play in a Swiss league but are allowed to represent Luxembourg and TNS play in England but are allowed to represent Wales.

That's a crap argument though, in a way. They effectively barred themselves when they decided they'd prefer to play in England than in Wales. They knew the score back then.

After saying that, i'd be happy to see them back in the Welsh Cup. At least that way, the WPL and lower league clubs might benefit of playing them somewhere along the line.

I wonder if you felt the same way when Bangor City were in exactly the same position, i.e. playing in England but representing Wales via the Welsh Cup, when they had arguably their 2 greatest nights vs Napoli and vs Athletico Madrid.

The Welsh FA f***ed up a great competition when they barred the big 3 from the Welsh Cup. Its now little more than a glorified League cup and the Premier Cup never caught the imagination and that's why its disappearing at the end of the season.

Time to bite the bullet, get the 6 exiles back in the Welsh Cup, with Euro qualification allowed, get decent sponsorship so we can make up the shortfall of losing the Premier cup money and lets get back to a decent Welsh Cup where a good final crowd is in 5 figures and not something just over 1000

There was a difference there was no LOW , Cardiff etc were involved on the Welsh Cup.
Let them in to the Welsh Cup (unseeded first season obviously) and let us play in the English FA Cup and trophy .
(We've been to Wembley you know)

Just our luck we'd win the FA cup it and not be allowed in Europe.

On reflection don't think FAW can change the rules retrospectively, they will try and watch out for the Welsh assembly joining in but sod em

That would be an excillent oportunity for the Wenglish clubs! They play there 100% of the time and may I also add that is how Andorra FC play in Spanish league, Vaduz play in Swiss league, Wellington play in Ozzie league & Tarronto play in MLS (trying to think of more) - San Marino FC play in Seria C2-(I think) because they are apart of the league they represent memebers, therefore apart of Spain, Switzerland, Australia, America & Italy (respectively). Where they geographically play has nothing to do with they national identify, they are nations of the league they play in therefore are able to qualify for Europe - hence why TNS are still representing wales because they are memebers of the Welsh FA!!!

Moreover, Vaduz also play in Leichtenstines FA Cup and always win it (so they do a double barrel - although I'm doubting myself on that knowledge now)!!! Please Google for all those wanting to know that fact!
