Some comments on this cup have been less than complimentary. Needless to say these comments have come from English pundits. The fact is, rather than playing, say, Paraguay in a pointless friendly, we play Scotland, NI, or ROI, which will be be more competitive than a friendly, will generate greater interest, and go towards possibly winning a tournement.

It works with rugby, why not football...?

And despite having now moved to Cardiff, i'd still happily travel to Wrexham for an international. More so, if it was a Celtic Cup game rather than a friendly...

On the face of it this is an exciting idea. But will it really benefit our young team to be playing "British-style" games instead of against teams from around the world? Personally, I think the players would learn a lot more from playing Paraguay than Northern Ireland.

As long as england don't try and muscle in on it though. They dumped the home international tournament because they deemed the other nations as unworthy of their competition. We can do without that arrogant shower of shite.
