Well as predicted, we've improved on last time, and are in pot 4 for the draw. England have slipped into pot 2 to join Scotland, and both Irelands are in pot 3. The draw is live on FIFA's site on Sunday (17.00 local time, so 16.00 here i believe). This i what i reckon to the draw:

Best case scenario:

Greece
Israel
Belgium/Northern Ireland
Wales
Azerbaijan
Anyone except Montenegro (they're artificially placed due to being a new side)

Worst case scenario:

Anyone except Greece!
England(?)/Romania
Norway/Ukraine
Wales
Georgia/Albania/Slovenia
Montenegro

Best for away travel: 8)

Croatia
Scotland
Serbia(!) or either of the Irelands
Wales
Slovenia/Austria
Estonia/Malta

What do you reckon?

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Germany again!!!!!!!

Group 4
Germany
Russia
Finland
WALES
Azerbaijan
Liechtenstein

Not bad for away travel, except bloody Azerbaijan again. Still, England have got Croatia again and Ukraine :P

Got to happy with that draw, except that we have got the Germans once again. I fancy us beating everybody at home (except the Germans hopefully get a draw). We just need that little bit of luck away from home to get those crucial away points. Fingers crossed the play offs I hope.

My prediction

1st Germany
2nd or 3rd Wales or Russia
4th Finland
5th Azerbaijan
6th Liechtenstein

Yes, i have to agree with that. 2nd place is do-able, but the Finn's are not as bad as they used to be - they came within a game or two of qualifying for the Euros.

Some solid 0-0 draws away to Germany and Russia will help the cause

But we must take 6 points from both Azerbaijan and Leichtenstein to be in with a chance. The Azers are a banana skin...

I think people are getting carried away, we'll do well to finish in third.

Germany will cruise home without any problems and Russia are strong favourites to claim second place. I think that we'll be battling it out with Finland for third. To be honest though, Finland are a much improved team since we played them back in 2002/03. Roy Hodgson has turned them into a well-drilled physical team which could prove to be too strong for our youngsters.

Having said that, I'm a firm believer in Toshack and I'm sure that we'll reap the rewards of his and Flynn's coaching in due course. Whether it will be this campaign remains to be seen.

Pob lwc hogiau!

I'm tempted TBH. Will have to look at logistics.

I hope the German back 4 don't retire after last night's defeat - i recon Bellamy and Co could have some joy against them!!
