That's a shame Turk as I was looking forward to meeting you and having a jar. We don't mind if there is a ref from South Wales as it doesn't really make any difference although I see our "friends" from Rhyl think otherwise.
Two out of three ain't bad for you as we hope to take the cup back up north with us!
Enjoy your time in Amsterdam but fear you will be unhappy watching the match - I hope!

CityBlue, if it had been our 7th attempt at the cup final and we had won it loads of time I would be delighted if you won, however, the thrill of having a trebble is far too important to let go and with a depleated team against Rhyl I fear the "1st teamers" are iching for a slice of the action and a win will be our (I of course hope)!!!

Mark, attendance was something between 500-600. When we won the treble in 2004, the attendance for our League Cup Final that year at Newtown wasn't a great deal more than that, but I'm sure there were about 1500 there for the Proper Cup Final a week later.
I agree Nev Powell has done a good job, altho they do say that the league table doesn't lie and we did finish 14 points ahead of you. I take RT's point that Llanelli had a good few missing at the League Cup Final but they were really there for the taking. All the second half chances came to Rhyl. During the game we had 6 very good chances. Our shooting was at best woeful and at worst disinterested - which is worrying. Llanelli defence worked hard to block shots but your strikers could easily get behiond them if you play the right balls - Duncan Roberts in brilliant form in the goal tho. I predict 3-2, could be to either of you.
Best of luck to both teams
(You can tell our season has finished !)

well ive let the dust settle on that amazing cup final last week which we won fair and square on the pitch, much the better team even with ten men and could have been 3 or 4-0 by half time.nev got his tactics spot on with substutions etc and big nicks full timers just ran out of steam and ideas.thats why this stream is called nevs blue heroes cos they bloody are.just one home draw in the cup run, beat caersws with 9 men, penalty shoot out win in aber, beat guilsfield convincingly in a potential banana skin and put out ymca who themselves had a heroic run in the cup.and then a unforgetable final win against the league champions in front of 99% of the best fans the league of wales has ever seen!!!.
but the final will be remembered for the wrong things as a few over exuberent fans spilled onto the field, one 15 yearold boy nudged the keeper who went down as if he was shot then got up and was then told by his manager who ran onto the pitch and told him to go back down which didnt help things.im not saying them fans didnt do anything wrong because they shouldnt have been on the pitch but it was nothing like what people are making it out to be.it was a last minute equaliser and some fans couldnt contain their joy and spilled onto the pitch and were quickly dragged off by other city fans which made the melee look worse than what it was! the faw should take some of the blame for making it a 4pm kick off most fans had a good 4hours in the pub before the game which didnt help and the stewards werent expecting so many fans behing one goal and couldnt be expected to stop anyone getting onto the field.
anyway its all history now and we must see what punishment we will get after 1 or 2 fans spoilt it for about 1200 city fans who sang their hearts out for the boys and brought the welsh cup back home to bangor where it belongs and hopeful of a decent draw in europe.looks like the league of wales has a strong european contingent this season with bangor rhyl tns and llanelli the four best teams in the league by far and maybe someone wil progress this time.looking forward to seeing nevs new blue heroes in europe wonder who will be joining us next season and improving our squad!!!

Must admit to being less optimistic about Rhyl's chances in Europe than at any time in the last 4 years - June start could be a killer. I'm sure the lads will give it their best shot though

Well played Bangor, didn't see all the game but from what I did see thought the result was thoroughly deserved. Stott was excellent. Hope his move to Chester comes off.
As for some of Bangor's fans. Disgrace to the club, surely BCFC finally have to accept that there is a minority of complete aresholes who come out for big games who must be identified and banned for good!

well im looking forward to our european jaunt and looks like nev is improving our squad and most of last seasons squad look like returning.but what the hell is going on down the road at rhyl looks like half of the side they had last season are on the way out, kendall, brewerton, connolly, white, hunt, graves ,horan either gone or thinking of going and with hulse gone will a few others go.what kind of side will they be able to put out in europe with the transfer window closed till july. if bickerstaffe is in charge do the rhyl fans have a confident outlook on next season! im not one for enjoying the demise of a good footballing town and enjoy the rivalry and banter etc but its not looking good is it. llanelli are not offering the players as much as last season as the pinch of no faw premier cup money hitting home so next season should make for an interesting one with port talbot and a few others signing a few half decent players.
bring on the euro comps for all our welsh prem sides and good luck to all

Our team going out on saturday for the practice match in belfast is euphemistically called a "mixed" team i.e. half the squad are reserves
btw you're not having brewie, no way !

I think you will find we are Not that surprising I suppose although I was surprised to hear who else from down the coast had asked to join - thankfully turned down.
You may be in for a bit of a tough summer it seems although hardly likely to send you into freefall. However as we found last season it takes some time for a new manager to get a new side to gel immediately.
Still, hope you do well in Europe.

Whilst it wasn't really a suprise that Hulsey went, rumours have been going round all season that was going to be his last, the timing of it was a bit poor.
Difficult to find out exactly whats gone on and who's in charge at the moment, but the impression I get is that the club wanted Hulsey to do the European games and then leave and Hulsey decided to resign before then. If they wanted him out why not sack him at the end of the season so that they had someone in place well before Europe came round. Only time will tell if its the right move. Plenty of people have been telling us Rhyl fans that Hulsey's been holding us back, well now we're going to find out.
As for the players leaving I'm told Brewie, Horan and Conno all trained with the 1st team tonight along with 2 potential new signings, 1 from Oldham Athletic, the other from Chasetown. Kendall wants to leave for personal reasons, Ruffer to go with Cammy, Graves has gone as has Hunty to Barrow. I'm quite certain some who are dithering are waiting to see who comes in and how much money is on offer. If you listen to the 1 bit of info that has come out of Belle Vue then there are 4 or 5 more players in the pipeline due to come in.
Think its all a bit too late for the Euro game. With Bohemians flying high at the top of the Irish league we'd have needed last seasons full team with a couple of quality new faces to have stood a chance, as it is I think we're gonna get stuffed. For the league as long as Pete Parry is still the driving force behind the club I think things will be OK, but its not the best pre season build up I've seen

Cityblue - cheers for that support on Europe, we'll need every support possible in present predicament.
Would be truly gutted if Brewie joined you - not just for footballing reasons but he is the heart of Rhyl.
To be brutally honest, it would be just as silly for Brewie to play for Bangor as it is for Jiws to play for Rhyl. Jiws did a professional job tho, and Brewie would do the same.
Re Jiw - he's the only young striker we've got left for Europe as Gay Powell must be about 45 by now !!!
